MEALTIME - LEARNING AND GROWING AT TEL

Mealtime at Trust Early Learners is a critical part of the day. Students are served a three-course lunch (appetizer, entrée and dessert) created by our in-house chefs, over a 1-hour time frame. They are also provided both a morning and afternoon snack.

Educators and students eat together and children are invited to explore taste, texture, color and smell, to talk about their likes and dislikes, and the origins of the food they eat— all of which contributes to building foundational social skills. Students enjoy fresh, nutritious foods, and develop motor skills through the use of utensils, while learning about pacing and manners at the table.

Soups, breads, sauces and other items are all scratch-made in our kitchen. Menus often include produce and eggs from local and organic farms, and dishes reflecting the diversity of cultures at TEL which not only expose children to a wide variety of foods and flavors, but provide an opportunity for interaction and learning.

The chefs accommodate food allergies and preferences (Halal, Vegetarian, etc.) for students. Families do not send any food to school, nor is there an additional charge for meals at TEL.

Several times a year, we invite families and friends to join their children for lunch, where they get to experience mealtime and enjoy the chefs’ incredible food!
