For the past 16 years, Jen has worked in urban education in both Washington D.C. and Boston. During this time, she has served as a teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and literacy director, with further emphasis on teacher professional development. In her current literacy director role, Jen leads a team that’s focused on closing the post-pandemic reading achievement gap in a PreK - 8th grade turnaround school in Dorchester. Aside from her school-based roles, Jen has taught graduate level language and literacy courses and teacher licensure preparation courses, developed district-wide literacy curriculum, and led workshops on culturally responsive teaching. Jen holds an M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Jen is the parent of a current Trust Early Learners student.
